This is an example of a framed guidon for the 6th Squadron, 8th Cavalry Regiment. This embroidered cavalry guidon measures 12” x 9”. This example was custom framed with military memorabilia. The design for this framed cavalry guidon includes an opening in the guidon’s swallowtail area for a unit challenge coin. Beneath the guidon is a custom gold satin nameplate, with black line borders. To the left of the nameplate is a unit challenge coin. On the right side of the nameplate is a set of captain’s bars. The framing design for this cavalry guidon utilizes triple acid-free/conservation grade mats. The top and bottom mats are etched black, and the middle mat is a red paper mat. Surrounding the guidon and the objects is an open V-groove. The open V-groove reveals the middle mat (red). The open V groove is a signature element in our design that many picture framers do not offer. Utilizing the open V-groove provides separation and good contrast between the objects and the frame. The black, all-wood frame has red pinstripes that match the center mat’s color. Foamboard spacers provide separation between the glass and the objects. This guidon design is similar to the designs offered in our e-commerce store. Variations for any design in the store can be easily modified to suit our customer’s particular needs.
