This is an example of a regulation size, embroidered 1st Military Intelligence Battalion guidon. This military intelligence guidon was flown in the field and shows actual signs of use. It was custom framed and presented to a member of the 1st Military Intelligence Battalion. We have smudged the nameplate to maintain the recipient’s anonymity. The design for this 1st Military Intelligence Battalion guidon includes four objects placed inside guidon’s swallowtail area. The top object is the 66th Military Intelligence Brigade patch. The object beneath the patch is a custom engraved black finish nameplate with yellow line borders. To the left of the nameplate is the distinctive unit insignia for the 1st Military Intelligence Battalion. Beneath the nameplate is the challenge coin for B Company, 1st Military Intelligence Battalion (AE). The design for this guidon features triple mats. The top and bottom mats are an Oriental blue color. The middle mat is a silver gray. Both of these mats match the colors of the guidon. Surrounding the objects is an open V-groove. The open V-groove provides added depth and creates a distinctive reveal. The reveal created by the open V-groove serves to separate the 1st Military Intelligence Battalion guidon and its objects by providing color contrast in the mats. The frame is an all-wood, black profile. The design for this guidon is similar to the designs in our e-commerce section.
