Improper Guidon Attachment Method – Using Packing Tape
This is an example of an improper, non-conservation method of attaching a guidon inside a frame. The acid in the foamboard will eventually damage the objects inside the frame by causing acid burns and yellowing. The packaging tape also contains acid which will off-gas, resulting in damage to documents and memorabilia inside the frame. In addition, using packaging tape as a method of attaching the guidon release its release inside the frame.
