Custom Display Case Example For A Burial Size Flag

Navy Veteran - Custom Display Case Example For A Burial Size Flag

This is an example of a custom display case for a burial size flag. In this example, the display case was created to honor a Navy veteran. The flag display case for a burial size flag is larger than the display cases for flags flown in the face of the enemy. The opening size for this large flag is approximately 23.5” x 9.625” in size. The burial size flag is placed inside the triangular opening at the top of the frame. The flag is aligned so that all of the stars have their tips facing up. Centered directly beneath the flag is a U.S. Navy coin. Beneath the coin is a medal. On each side of the medal are photographs commemorating the sailor’s military service. Beneath the photographs are three more window openings. The center window contains a custom commemorative nameplate. And on each side of the nameplate is another medal. This piece was custom framed using triple mats. The top and bottom mats are Navy blue silken mats. The center mat is a red paper mat. This design works well because the red second mat shows through the reveals in each of the window openings. This custom flag display case is based on a large size flag. Typically, a funeral size flag is about 9.5’ x 5’. The frame selected for this piece is a gold tone finish wood frame. Designs for funeral flag displays often include metals, photographs, nameplates, challenge coins, and unit insignia. We invite you to contact us with any questions you may have regarding customization of the burial size flag display case.
