Flag Case For An American Flag Flown During Operation Enduring Freedom

Flag Case For An American Flag Flown During Operation Enduring Freedom

This is an example of a custom flag case designed to hold an American flag flown in the face of the enemy. This flag was flown during Operation Enduring Freedom by the 3rd Sustainment Brigade at Kandahar Air Field, Afghanistan. The folded American flag is placed in a triangular opening approximately 13.375” x 5.625” in size. The flag is positioned between two Challenge Coins from Operation Enduring Freedom. Beneath the flag is the signed certificate stating that the flag was actually flown. The design for this frame includes double mats. The top mat is a Navy blue silken mat, and the bottom mat is a red paper mat. The use of silken mats enhances the design characteristics of this framed piece. The silken mat simulates the appearance of a fabric’s texture. This works well from a design perspective with framed fabric items such as flags. An open V-groove surrounds the flag and the objects inside the frame. The separation created by the open V-groove reveals the red bottom mat. This slight hint of red forms a needed perimeter that separates the frame from the objects. The red color in the V-groove’s reveal also provides good color coordination with the colors inside the challenge coins. The frame used in this design is a brown wood frame, whose finish hits at a mahogany tone.

      Matt,
Thank you for your inquiry. The flag shadowboxes are all custom made and not mass produced. I size the shadowboxes according to the flag dimensions paying particular attention to the line up of the stars. Each flag is measured so the point of the top star aligns with the point of the triangle as each embroidered star is a different size for each flag. The flag is then hand sewn in place so it won’t shift out of position over time with handling. All mats are Archival Acid Free Museum quality and I use 99% UV Protective Acrylic to prevent fading over time and damage during shipping. Each flag, certificate, and coins would have to be sent to my address below in order to place them in the shadowbox. The total price which includes shipping $450.00 for each shadowbox. If in the state of GA, add 8% sales tax for a total of $486.00 each. I am discounting each shadowbox by $50.00 off my normal price of $500.00 due your volume of 6 cases. If you wish to proceed you can call with any major credit card and I will process your order. When shipping the flag, certificate, & coins, be sure to add enough padding to prevent any chance of the items being juggled around causing damage. The certificates need to be placed between 2 pieces of hard cardboard to prevent being creased and put a tracking number on each package. I will notify you of their arrival.
I look forward to working with you on these very special shadowboxes.
