This is a custom framed U.S. Navy photo that features three generations of sailors. This is their naval boot camp graduation photograph. The family position in the frame features the grandfather in the center photograph, the father on the right side, and the grandson on the left side. The frame’s design includes a Navy blue linen Navy blue top mat. The linen top mat provides texture and compensates for the gray tones in the photographs. The bottom mat is a gold color. The combination of Navy blue and gold complements the black and white graduation photographs. Beneath each sailor is a custom engraved nameplate. The nameplate identifies the family member and their graduation date from boot camp. Under the three identification nameplates is another nameplate with a personal inscription about courage, faith, and duty. This nameplate is flanked on both sides by a special mat cut that resembles a pair of anchors. Surrounding the photographs, the custom nameplates, and the special anchor-shaped mat cuts is our signature open V-groove. The open V-groove reveals the gold colored bottom mat. This design element effectively creates a color break for the top mat. The gold bottom mat is visible in the open V-groove and creates balance for the overall design. A dark brown/mahogany tone wood profile with gold beaded inserts was used to create the frame.
