This is a framed limited edition military print titled, “Showing The Flag,” by Don Stivers. In this limited edition print, Don Stivers depicts the encounter between the First Regiment of Dragoons, commanded by Colonel Henry Dodge and Native Americans. “Showing The Flag” was framed using triple acid-free / conservation grade mats. The top and bottom mats are suede tan mats that conform to the subtle dry vegetation in the scene. The middle mat is a very deep olive green that matches the shadowy areas along the trees along the ridgeline. Directly beneath the print are three openings. The center opening contains a commemorative nameplate. On each side of the nameplate are 3rd ID challenge coins. A brown wood profile with metal corner caps was used to create this frame.
