This is an example of a custom frame for the Headquarters, 26th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team guidon. This guidon was furnished to us for framing. This Headquarters guidon is regulation size and made of nylon. It shows signs of use—from spending time in the field. This guidon was presented as an heirloom piece for preservation. The design for this custom framed guidon utilizes four mats. The top and bottom mats are etched black. A white mat is the second mat. In a red mat is the third mat. A black frame with red line edging was selected as part of the custom design process. The black frame contrasts well against the white guidon. It also contrasts well with the black, the white, and the red mats. No objects were placed in the guidon’s swallowtail area. Instead, a large opening was created beneath the guidon. This opening is used for placement of patches, distinctive unit insignias, 3rd ID patch, and rank pin. Our standard opening configuration in the e-commerce store differs slightly from this design. This example proves that great flexibility exists for us to custom frame a regulation size guidon.
